When I saw this one, I really liked the size for our entryway and I liked the price comparatively speaking. It came in two days like expected, HOWEVER, when it arrived it was only then that we realized it was a put-it-together-yourself piece! All 300+ shells were in a bag and all of the little keyrings to hold them together were in another bag. So my hubby and I took 3 nights, maybe an hour each night, and strung these together. Unexpected work, but it was Valentine's Day...so we chalked it up to bonding time. :) All in all, I really like how it turned out. Another note to consider, it does 'chime' like a windchime when rustled. They are quite pretty now that they are hung up and I use them daily. When my A/C comes on and it blows softly on them, they do make a wind chime' ish noise, so be aware of that. But that's not what bugs me about these items, the real issue was the assembly and the lack of instructions for that assembly. These chandeliers come in about 1,000 pieces each. Each tiny little "O" ring has to be attached to the capiz shells and to each other. The directions for the assembly are literally just a picture, no written explanation. No biggie, is what I thought at first, it has a picture of 5 "O" rings attached at the top, then shell, then 2 "O" rings, then a shell, then 2, then a shell....etc.... Well if you follow these instructions, you WILL NOT HAVE ENOUGH "O" RINGS!!! Do not go around town to bead stores, home improvement stores, craft and fabric stores looking for more "O" rings (apparently they only make them in the same place they... BTW, It is A LOT of work! I got started right away and 2 days later when I was almost done hanging all the shells I find out that there are no where near enough rings to finish the process.Pretty upset at all the time I just wasted I put it back in the box to ship back. Really disappointed!! Def. do not recommend. |
